One Journey. One Community. One Vision.

We are excited to share a new, long-term vision for the future of Catholic education in the Fraser Valley.

The One Campus Initiative is a shared vision to create a more connected Kindergarten-to-Grade-12 Catholic educational experience by bringing together St. James & St. Ann’s Elementary School and St. John Brebeuf Regional Secondary School under one unified campus model.

For many years, our schools have shared a campus, served many of the same families and parish communities, and contributed to a strong tradition of Catholic education in the Fraser Valley. The One Campus Initiative builds on these longstanding strengths and creates an opportunity to think beyond individual schools- taking a more connected, coordinated and future-focused approach to education, planning and stewardship.

At the heart of One Campus is a simple question:

How can we build on what we already do well and create even greater opportunities for the future?

By bringing our schools together under a shared vision, One Campus creates opportunities to strengthen the educational journey from Kindergarten through graduation, expand opportunities for students, create a more connected experience for families, and take a more coordinated approach to planning, resources and future investment.

Students will continue to learn in age-appropriate elementary and secondary environments while benefiting from stronger connections across the campus and new opportunities for learning, leadership, mentorship, athletics, arts, service and faith formation. Families will benefit from greater continuity throughout their child’s educational journey, stronger community connections and a more coordinated school experience.

This is a long-term vision that will unfold over several phases.

We’re beginning with Phase 1 and building the foundation.

Phase 1 focuses on establishing a unified Regional Education Committee (REC) to provide leadership, stewardship and strategic direction for the One Campus Initiative. The REC brings together representatives from both schools and the seven supporting parish communities and will help coordinate future planning, guide decision-making, work with key partners and prepare for future phases.

Both schools will continue to operate while this important foundation is established. Phase 1 is focused on governance and planning, with future phases building toward greater alignment, expanded opportunities and long-term investment in the campus.

At its heart, One Campus is about creating a stronger, more connected and sustainable future for Catholic education in the Fraser Valley—one that builds on the strengths of our schools and communities while creating new opportunities for current and future generations.
